Robert Watson

Parliamentary Candidate

Robert is a partner in a third generation hardware business in Sutton-on-Sea where he was born and bred. He was elected on to East Lindsey District Council in 2023 and he also sits on Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council.

Robert has served as chair of governors at his former primary school in the village and has been a long time contributor to the Meridale Youth Centre in the roles of secretary, treasurer and chairman until 2018.  He has brought up two children in the village; one of whom is now a partner in the family business.

Having worked over 40 years on the high street in Sutton-on-Sea Robert is well-known locally and has supported the carnival committee, horticultural society and late-night shopping events, putting up bunting and fixing Christmas lights on the high street.  He is also a trustee of several local charities.

Paul Fisher

Chair

Paul is a nature lover, dog lover and walker. With a distrust of our current political system, Paul strongly supports a greener and fairer system that would result in equality for all. Proportional representation is also high on Paul’s list of priorities. Never have Green policies been more needed. We need urgent change now.

Peter Skipworth

Secretary

Peter is increasingly concerned about how nature and biodiversity are being eroded, with the main political parties having little or no interest in redressing the balance.

While out walking with Paul, they decided to stop complaining about how intensive farming, and general neglect had left the countryside bereft of wildlife and do something about it. Hence the East Lindsey Green Party was formed so that people who care about the planet our children and grandchildren will inherit, can choose to put a cross next to our Green Party candidate.

Anne Baker

Membership Secretary

Anne has worked in a caring profession all of her working life, running a children’s home and as a nurse. Anne retired to care for her ailing mother and now volunteers in our local library and a uniform and baby bank.

Anne have always cared about green issues and is horrified to see how each government has eroded policies designed to protect and enhance our beautiful country. The Green Party is the only party that puts people and planet first before wealth and material gain.

Anne Thomson

Digital Media

Previously a software engineer and web application designer with Philips Semiconductors and then Director of project and program management at ARM in Cambridge.

Anne is now an artist and volunteers for the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust at Gibraltar Point and leading a village church project to encourage children to create and maintain wildlife gardens at her local school and church.

The climate and nature crisis we now face can be overwhelming, but do anything you can to fight it and give nature and our children a chance.

Phil Gaskell

Treasurer

Phil is chair of Skegness and District Coastal Access for All. We organise volunteers and organisations to keep our beaches clean, in the areas of beach that ELDC do not cover.

In a varied career Phil has been a Harrod’s salesman, London Bus driver, sub-postmaster, P. E. teacher, youth leader and College Head of Vocational Business.

Now retired, Phil has become increasingly concerned about rising sea levels. None of the other Parties show any concern for this issue.
